Drift Allstars 2017

Drift Allstars ha annunciato i suoi progetti per il 2017. Tante le novità in programma a partire dalla gara di Tours in concomitanza con il campionato francese prevista per fine maggio 2017.

Si continua a giugno poi col il round in Gran Bretagna  che sarà ospitato su un inedito tracciato cittadino, novità assoluta per le gare organizzate nei territori di Sua Maestà Elisabetta. 

A luglio le attività del campionato si faranno incadescenti con la partecipazione al Global Warfare ospitato da uno dei migliori campionati nazionali europei l’Irish Drift Championship.

A fine luglio i concorrenti di Drift Allstars tornano in Scandinavia sui saliscendi del circuito di Grondal ed una settimana si sposteranno in Lettonia per una delle tappe più famose del campionato.

Ultima gara prima della pausa estiva prevista in Germania i primi di agosto. 

A settembre si riparte con il round in Ungheria per arrivare al gran finale previsto per l’ottava gara denominata Gran Premio d’Europa in una location non ancora annunciata. Qui di seguito il testo del comunicato originale :

Unveiling an exciting new era championship, the Drift GP series will feature a European calendar full of show-stopping venues across the continent – testing 100 drivers from 25 different nations. Featuring a great mix of high speed circuits, custom layouts, street circuits and a stadium environments, across 8 stops, the drivers will be pushed to their limits in 2017.
French Drift GP on May 29-30th will kick off the 2017 season for very first time on the Nascar Circuit of Tours speedway just outside Paris. With a shift towards more central European locations in 2017, the series will be more accessible to core fans than ever before. The British Drift GP will showcase an all new street circuit for the first time ever in Western Europe.
Building on the success of classic stops like Global WarFare in Ireland, Germany Lausitzring, a return to Grondal in Sweden and the all new look Latvia, provide a great backbone to the series with a show stopping finale at the European Drift GP in September.
PLUS this year, there’ll be more than just drifting…EACH ROUND for the first time, will take the format of an all-in one motorsports festival rolling to each stop. From music, trade, e-sports & an e-village…

Round 1 French Drift GP – Tours SpeedWay May 27-28th 

After a break of 5 years the series returns to France, to the iconic Tours Speedway just south of Paris. Tours will really test drivers with its 9 degrees banking and concrete jungle, pushing drivers for the very first time on this type of course. It should throw up some big surprises.

Round 2 British Drift GP – Street Circuit June 17-18th 

A first ever in Western Europe a professional drift event will be held on the public roads of the UK. A unique high speed battle, with no room for error  and will truly test even the best of our drivers. 
Round 3 Irish Drift GP – Global Warfare 3 Mondello Park July 1-2nd 

The climatic end to the 2016 Global Warfare did not leave any stone uncovered. It was only fitting that a rematch was put in place to show the Irish who can really can take down their unbeaten streak. The record was brought down to the wire and with even more firepower coming in this record needs to be challenged.
Round 4 Swedish Drift GP – Grondal Motorsenter July 22-23rd  

A return to Scandinavia, to one of the most unique circuits ever showcased on the tour, the Grondal circuit with its roller coaster undulating layout on the hills of Eskilstuna will again showcase the best from Sweden/Norway/Finland and Denmark against Europe’s best.

Round 5- Latvian Drift Bickernieki City Circuit GP July 28-29th 

Latvian Drift GP returns for the 5th season and is now renowned as the classic on the calendar. For 2017 the circuit and event will receive some big changes to make sure it retains its position as one of the premier drift events in Europe

Round 6 German Drift GP -August 4-5th

German Drift GP makes its return to the Eurospeedway Lauschitz circuit. After a hugely successful opening year event the German fans and drivers have got a real appetite for the best drivers at this high speed layout. Can the top German drivers bounce back on home soil? It’s time to find out…

Round 7- Hungarian Drift GP – September 2-3rd 

Hungary has always played a special part of the calendar with its super enthusiastic fans. For 2017 an all new layout at the Hungaroring F1 Circuit, with a reverse high speed layout, should really test the drivers to the limit

Round 8 –European Drift GP September  – Final Fight

No season would be complete without an epic final location. Combined with music, actions sports and more, this festival will showcase drifting at one of the most unique venues ever used in the sport of drifting….the wait will be worth it!
CEO Drift Allstars, Niall Gunn added “The 2017 season will bring a great mix of diversity and change, with the return and more focus on western European events. The biggest mix up has been the huge amount of full time international teams and global drivers who have joined the tour for 2017. With so many new faces it is shaping up to be the most unpredictable season ever, with the diverse nature of testing circuits pushing the drivers to find their very best.”
Over the coming weeks we will be making many exciting new announcements  including; 2017 partners, event/format restructures, rule changes and mainstream media shifts. Plus, the new driver line up for the #DGP2017 – bringing a welcome change to the entertainment of European drifting.
